Operating Environmental Conditions

Structure

Note: The XGN15-24 unit-type SF₆ ring main unit is composed of four parts as follows: ① busbar compartment ② main switch ③ cable compartment ④ operating mechanism, interlocking mechanism & low-voltage control section

1. Busbar Compartment: The busbar compartment is located at the upper part of the cabinet. Inside it, the main busbars are interconnected and run through the entire row of switch cabinets.

2. Load Switch: An SF₆ load switch (model FLN36 or FLN56) is installed in the switch compartment. The switch housing is cast from epoxy resin and filled with SF₆ gas as the insulating medium, with an observation hole on the housing. An SF₆ gas density gauge or a gas density relay with alarm contacts can be installed in the switch compartment according to requirements.

3. Cable Compartment: The load switch cabinet is equipped with a generous cable compartment, which is mainly used for cable connection. It allows single-core or three-core cables to be connected via simple non-shielded cable terminals. Meanwhile, the ample space can also accommodate components such as lightning arresters, current transformers and earthing switches at the lower part. Designed in accordance with standards, the cabinet door is fitted with an observation window and a safety interlocking device. The bottom plate of the cable compartment is provided with a sealing cover and appropriately sized cable clamps with support frames. Both the bottom plate and the front door frame can be removed to facilitate cable installation.

4. Operating Mechanism, Interlocking Mechanism & Low-voltage Control Section: The interlocked low-voltage compartment also serves as a control panel. It houses a spring-operated mechanism with position indicator and mechanical interlocking devices. It can also be equipped with auxiliary contacts, trip coils, emergency trip mechanisms, capacitive live-line indicators, key locks and electric operation devices. In addition, the entire upper unit is replaceable.
